Welcome to Sunbury Heights PS. At Sunbury Heights Primary School

We have three important school values: Respect, Responsibility and Kindness. These values are really important to us, and we can earn tokens by showing them. We can use our tokens at the token shop to get prizes or fun experiences.

There are also cool activities for Grade 5 and 6 students like State Schools Spectacular and the Robotics Program.

We have the Dulap Wilam Hub where we have our Breakfast Club on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

We also compete in House Spirit activities at our school.

Our houses are Laver, Elliott, Fraser and Bradman, and we love competing in events and cheering for our teams.

At the end of the year, we have a Christmas Concert. All the students from Foundation to Grade 5 do a Christmas dance, and the Grade 6s do their Graduation dance.

We also have lots of great subjects like Art, Italian, Maths, Phonics, Writing, PE, Steam and Library.

Tokens

In our school we have a reward system for when the students show the school’s values and doing a good job at their work in class, and this reward is called Hi 5 tokens.

Hi 5 Tokens are a currency used to buy different items from the Heights High 5 shop. When you buy the stuff in the shop you get points for your house colours of Elliott, Bradman, Laver and Fraser and at the end of the semester the house who spent the most tokens is the house who wins a prize.

The rewards you can get from the token shop stretches from just 10 tokens to 100! In the token shop you can buy a lot of amazing experiences including skateboards, Gold Class at assemblies and pizza cooking classes – to name a few.

Academic Subjects

At Sunbury Heights Primary School, we have included fun and interesting learning and activities for students of all ages, from Foundation to Year 6.

Each Academic Subject includes challenging activities for students to help them grow.

Our Teachers have learned to help students no matter what.

Our subjects include, Reading, Writing, Math, Inquiry, Phonics also known as Word Study for higher year levels also including a new subject for higher levels named Social Emotional Learning (SEL). But, we don’t just have these subjects..

We also have specialists for our other subjects. In our specialists we have Art, Italian, Library, STEAM and PE.
All of our subjects go for 50 minutes and the school day lasts from 8:50am to 3:15pm.

Our amazing staff have been trained from not just university but have also learnt through the expertise of their colleagues to be the best they can be for your child.

Assemblies

Our assemblies, unlike being held at the start of the day, instead happen every Friday at the end of the day with the school captains, indigenous leader, and junior school council.

At our school, to encourage our students, we have weekly student awards called

• Students of the Week
• Heights Weekly Star
• The Deadly award
• Star Class of the Week award.

At our assemblies, the principal and the student leaders announce events that have happened, future events and the weekly student awards.

After we would do our school oath and sing the Australian National Anthem.
